We Believe
At Open Eye Beverage Co, We Believe That:
- Chai is for everyone. Whether you like the real-deal authentic masala chai or a syrupy-sweet chai tea latte, you do you! We think everyone should enjoy a daily ritual like a cup of tea; our concentrate makes that easy.
- Sustainability is cool. Our concentrates are made from whole, organic ingredients that we compost after brewing. We source our ingredients from small farms that use permaculture and organic growing methods. We only use glass and metal packaging, and we buy back bottles from you to encourage reusing and recycling. We intend to leave the planet a little better than we found it.
- Our food system- like life- is cyclical. After brewing, we compost all of our spent ingredients to divert waste from landfills and help regenerate our soil. We're paying attention to where our spices come from, how they’re grown, and who farms them to make sure we're giving back as much as we're getting.
- We are only as strong as the community we build. We will never prioritize profit over our relationships with our customers and farmers. We love our Austin farmers market community, the Sustainable Food Center family, our chai-loving staff and our kind colleagues at local coffee shops, cafes, and grocery stores. Our products and company are better because of them.
- Great chai doesn't exist without whole ingredients. That's why we scoured the globe (aka the internet) to find the best building blocks for our blend. To us, best means best tasting, most sustainably grown.
- We can build a better food system. By working directly with farmers to build our product, we're able to put our money where our mouth is. We source our ingredients from small farms that use regenerative and organic growing methods. By selling at local farmers markets, we are building relationships and sharing our love of local foods.
- Farmers are the backbone of our food system. Without the hard work done by millions of workers, we wouldn't have any of the food or beverages we enjoy. By direct trading, we know that our farmers are receiving a fair wage and that the farms we buy from are giving back to their community.
- Women will change the world. That is all.
